Pekaot [Bulbs]
The sculpture ' Pekaot ' is installed at the entrance to the city of Yavneh , which played a crucial role in the period of the destruction of the Second Temple . This is where the Sanhedrin [supreme judicial body in Talmudic times] relocated from Jerusalem and from where a new Jewish tradition developed unconnected to the physical rituals previously practiced on the Temple Mount .
The sculpture's primary image consists of the capital of an uprooted building column. Gentle stalks protrude, rising from a bulb motif to create an image of the promise of renewed spiritual growth.
